This is a reminder of the Flower Mound Town Council Meeting tonight. The Flower Mound Town Council will consider approval of a resolution for the Downwinders At Risk Fair Share For Clean Air Plan.
The State of Texas must submit a new clean air plan by the end of 2011. TCEQ has made some cuts but still needs to cut over 140 tons of VOC's per day. The Fair Share for Clean Air asks the TCEQ to look at the gas drilling industry to cut the additional VOC's needed.

Our Mission: To work in a legal, ethical, and civil manner to stop urban gas drilling in the highly residential areas of North Texas. We are not against all gas drilling, but rather that which will adversely affect the public safety, the enjoyment of our homes, and our overall quality of life. We support the need for better regulation and accountability of the Oil & Gas Industry in rural and urban areas of Texas.
Thank you, Town Council, for passing the Clean Air resolution!
ReplyDeleteThanks to Tammi, the Mayor, Council member Filidoro and everyone else who helped pass the resolution tonight.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim, it was nice to see you tonight. Thank you for all your hard work and commitment to making sure we all breathe clean air. Good luck in Southlake.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all who brought this to the Town of Flower Mound's attention. Big whoop for Jim Shermbeck, Downwinders at Risk, who has been fighting our battles for over 10 years and Tammi Vadja, who is no newcomer herself, to making things better in the world.
