We've had a nice couple of months off--the December and January O&G Board of Appeals meetings were canceled--but now it's time to go back to work.
(Had it not been for Cherokee Horn's irritating, weekly mailings, we might have had a completely normal holiday season.)
Please take the time to educate yourself with the latest information on urban gas drilling. Read the excellent series, "Behind the Shale" which was recently published in the Denton Record Chronicle.
Here's the link to the first installment: http://www.dentonrc.com/sharedcontent/dws/drc/localnews/stories/drc_shale1_1228.13c43d7f.html
Also, a terrific, very comprehensive source of information is the "Oil and Gas Accountability Project." Here's the link: http://www.earthworksaction.org/oil_and_gas.cfm
Do you find the weekly mailings of Belk, Dillards, Macy's, Target, Wal-Mart, Papa John's, etc. just as irritating or is it just Cherokee Horn? My guess is that you gladly opened the sale ads and offers from the department stores (sent at least weekly) without an ounce of "irritation". I thought this site was about education ... check your claims again and proofread before you publish.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you talking about? This site IS about education and being AGAINST URBAN DRILLING. Not about being against shopping or advertising. If you had gone to the sites given in the post, you would learn more about gas drilling and have less time to be hostle. I agree with FMCAUD, the mailings are irritating and besides, Kohls, Belk and etc. offered coupons!
ReplyDeleteI am quite educated on the subject, thank you. The stores may be offering coupons...Cherokee Horn is offering cash. It's quite obvious that this site is dedicated to the demise of Cherokee Horn. At least be honest about it ...
ReplyDeleteCherokee Horn assigned all their FM leases to Titan Resources, at the county clerk's office, back in December.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Mission Accomplished.
ReplyDeleteWhen the taxable value of all of that land reaches 0 (and after you suck it dry and can never build a store, house, barn or anything else on it, it will), we will have to shop twice as much to replenish the tax revenue to the city for all of the taxable value lost on the appraisal of the land. How's that for the "greater good" and the "bigger picture"? Do you like property tax increases, how about sales tax increases? What do I know, I'm just an uneducated idiot.
ReplyDeleteOkay I will be Honest. I am against all gas drilling companies and their leasing partners that want to drill in the middle of neighborhoods. Go check out other anti drilling blogs and see what is going on in other areas. I think FMCAUD is tame in comparison. Try txsharon.blogspot.com or fwcando.org. These people are living the nightmare right now. I have spoken with these people and they are highly educated individuals who didn't have a chance to research gas drilling before it was shoved down their throats.
ReplyDeleteNo takers on a real debate about taxable land values as a result of gas drilling?
ReplyDeleteDidn't think so.
ReplyDeleteobviously
