Wise County Messenger tells story of family's drilling horror

In the past 2 weeks, we have posted a story about a family in Wise County that does not own their mineral rights. Their situation is what is called "Split Estate". They own the surface, live on the property, pay taxes on the property but have no say when it comes to drilling on it.

Aruba Petroleum showed up one day with their equipment, cut the fence to their horse pasture, letting the horses run free and started building a pad site!

  1. This is so sad. I can't imagine what this family is going through. Isn't there something the family can do legally to stop this assault? My heart and prayers go out to them
