  1. Interesting. Wonder why so many wanted to run against Al Filidoro? I believe at least 2 of them have signed leases with Williams.
We know Jody Smith and Bryan Webb have. NFL, NFL, NFL, NFL!!!!!!!
    Did I mention NFL!
    Northern, Filidoro, Lyda

  2. When I checked a few days ago, no one was running against Al Filidoro. There are also three other people that "picked up packets" listed on the www.flower-mound.com website.
•Dave Johnson - no place indicated
•Angie Cox - no place indicated
•Robert Maxey - no place indicated
Does anyone have information on them?

  3. They may have decided not to run. It appears they only picked up packets. But if they didn't file by the end of the business day today, then we have to assume they are not running at all.

  4. Very curious that some many decided to run against Al. So first we should know the players. We know who Jan is of pumpkin patch fame and cohort of our dear Mayor. Bob Kohankie - husband to Carol, "I always need to be the last person to speak during public participation" Kohankie perhaps? And then there's Gerald, in 2008 he was Chair of the Towns Environmental Conservation Committee. Alot of the long standing people left after a rift over the tree ordinance or something. It would be interesting to see what Gerald has to say about Al. For the other two, Jan and Bob, most likely is a vote for either one of them is a vote for another of Jody's cronies. Don't know enough about Greg to say but he might be the only one worth considering other than Al. He have to do some pretty hard talking though.

Other than that it who we've know for quite some time. No suprises and no real decisions to make.

  5. Wow, Looks like they are ganging up on Filidoro. I guess if they take out Filidoro it could be a clean sweep for Williams. Flower Mound might get 3 CCFs.

  6. Jan Balekian, Gerald Robinson,
Bob Kohankie....so they need 3 candidates to match Al, yeah, that's about right. NFL in May, run 10 candidates, Williams, we really don't care.

  7. Not sure what kind of strategy it is to run 3 people from the same side. Maybe they have been sucking in too much methane and aren't thinking clearly.

  8. Northern, Filidoro, and Lyda. Unless you want to end up with a council like we have now.

  9. Looks like Gerald Robinson's campaign treasurer is Jean Levenick:

  10. Guess that will the split the 50-75 pro-CCF, Drill right next your house votors and leave the remaining sane 69,207 votors for AL!

  11. I hear that all three candidates running against Al are close friends and employees of Jody Smith. Boy, she must really be worried! So we have Jody's best friend, Jody's driver, and Jody's financial advisor all running against Al. And almost all of Jody's ticket has leases with Williams! Now I know why people are saying. "Jody Smith...Great for Williams....Bad for Flower Mound." Come on, May 8th!

  14. OMG, the wicked witch of the west is running. Hey Balekian, you can't sue your way into office like you tried to sue your competition.

  15. They forgot to throw the kitchen sink at Al, too. Geez, pick a candidate, not a mob.

  16. I know Kohankie and Balekian are Jody's close personal friends. That is common knowledge and something all three talk about openly. This other guy - Gerald Robinson - hearing he is an independent financial advisor who does or has managed Jody's assets. If that turns out to be true this is amazing. They couldn't find one person in all of Flower Mound to take on Al that didn't have close personal or financial ties to Jody Smith?

  17. Why is everyone so concerned about Al Filidoro on this stop the drilling website? Can someone clue me in?

  18. Filidoro is the useful idiot of those who single issue citizens who so aggressively oppose natural gas production in Flower Mound. He can be trusted to always vote against exploration and production, no matter what the costs for the Town. I do have to admit, though, that his "old man rants" can be entertaining ("Williams is a Trojan horse!", he croaked at a recent Council meeting).

  19. It is interesting that someone would mention a single issue candidate. That is exactly what Jody Smith, Bryan Webb, and the army of candidates running against Al Filidoro. Their platforms are "whatever our cronies want and screw the rest of the town". Their issue is whatever their buddies want. NFL have no financial ties with any industry in this town and will make decisions will all citizens in mind.

  20. Filidoro is an attorney and you think he does not have financial interests associated with businesses in this town? Give us a break! We should kick Al out just because he is a lawyer.
