Flower Mound candidates Jody Smith, Gerald Robinson, and Bryan Webb declined a second invitation from the Flower Mound Cares Group.
Originally, the group was planning a candidate forum. Smith, Robinson and Webb felt that the Flower Mound Cares was a single issue group and declined the invitation. Flower Mound Cares decided to change the venue to a "meet and greet" in hopes to make Jody Smith, Gerald Robinson, and Bryan Webb more comfortable. Once again they declined.

Our Mission: To work in a legal, ethical, and civil manner to stop urban gas drilling in the highly residential areas of North Texas. We are not against all gas drilling, but rather that which will adversely affect the public safety, the enjoyment of our homes, and our overall quality of life. We support the need for better regulation and accountability of the Oil & Gas Industry in rural and urban areas of Texas.
Interesting that Smith/Robinson/Webb cited one of their reasons for declining the debate invitation is that Flower Mound Care's is "closely affiliated with www.stopthe drilling.blogspot.com."
ReplyDeleteThis blog's mission from day one has been to stop the drilling in the highly residential areas of Flower Mound.
They obviously disagree with this mission. Maybe they need their own blog...something like drillinyourbackyard.com.
The "Venue" never changed it was always meant to be at Parker Square, the only thing that changed was the format.
ReplyDeleteThanks for catching that. The format will change
ReplyDeleteWait, wait, wait, Smith/Robinson/Webb said they were against drilling in residential areas, so they should be charter members of this group, instead their "followers" label us as extremist, okay fine, we're extremist why are YOUR candidates using this sites MISSION statement as their platform? I knew it, they are closet stop ***urban*** drilling supporters!
