Northern, Filidoro and Lyda signs being stolen

Some people just don't know how to play fair. Here is a little bit of history. It all started a few years ago when gas drilling started popping up close to highly populated neighborhoods and schools in the Town of Flower Mound.

Some residents decided they didn't like the way gas drilling was being done. They started demanding better drilling practices. They went out and bought signs that said "Say No To Urban Drilling." Then a gas leasing company named Cherokee Horn exercised their right to freedom of speech and offered signs that said "Naturally Gas is Good" to the mineral owners who signed leases. These lease holders didn't have to buy those signs though. In fact, they were paid to put those signs in their yard. As time went by, the "Say No" signs started to be stolen but miraculously, the "Gas is Good" signs didn't disappear.

Then came the FM Cares Petition Drive. Signs went up to call attention to the signing events. Those signs started to disappear. They were recovered in a car, parked in the Flower Mound High School parking lot. The nice organizers of from FM Cares Petition Drive decided not to press charges even though they had every right too. Since it was a teenager who had these signs in possession, they felt that the situation should be dealt with at of the home of the teen and privately.

Then the signs for Northern, Filidoro, and Lyda started to go up on many lawns in ALL of Flower Mound. NFL. Now those signs have started to disappear too. The Smith, Robinson and Webb signs seem to stay just where they are. In addition to that, some of the supporters have gone as far as having signs made up that seem to be un-ethical. Quoting Mr. Filidoro when I am sure he never said the following.
"I'm Gonna To Run This Town"

Mr. Stone, you should file a complaint with the ethics committee.

  1. Mr. Paul Stone should also file a complaint against Jody Smith for not filing her campaign contribution report. Jody Smilth signed the document stating, "I am aware of my responsibility to file timely reports required by title 15 of the election code." I am sure it will be back dated so it will look like it was done correctly.

  2. Mr. Stone should file an ethics complaint against himself, if it's true that he wrongly accused three people.

His performance the other night at Town Council was a desperate, pathetic attempt at intimidation and bullying. If it were me he falsely accused, he'd be reminded that this isn't the playground by my attorney.

As far as the sign stealing goes, how low and childish are these people? The event at FMHS just reinforces the belief that rules and laws don't apply equally in Flower Mound. When bad behavior goes unpunished, it makes everybody look bad. School administrators, police, the mayor, etc. Zero tolerance doesn't have an asterisk by it in the LISD code of conduct manual.

  3. Man! Things are heating up. I hope y'all have some poll watchers lined up.

  4. hmmm...Jody's campaign contribution report was just posted this evening (Sunday). How very strange.

What's even more strange is that it states that she has no contributions and no expenditures.

    We're waiting Mr. Stone.

  5. I do think that poll watchers are a good idea. The rumors about Jody and company going in the back on election day and finding out how many more votes they need to win are retold enough that it makes me wonder. I'm not saying they are true but why take a chance?

  6. Anyone know how you go about getting poll watchers? What do they do? This may be a good idea.

  7. This election absolutely needs poll watchers! Who do we contact?

  8. Mary..each candidate must appoint a poll watcher to work each location. That person must then register with the election judge and then is allowed access to the polls to observe on behalf of the candidate.

  9. Maybe we can get Jimmy Carter. He's the go-to guy when it comes to validating elections in corrupt areas...

  10. Poll watchers? OK, you people have gone beyond zealotry, you are now officially crazy.

  11. Crazy? Justified is more like it. First the whole Hineygate thing basically got swept under the rug but thank goodness someone at the town was angry enough to put it out there. Then the sabatoge of the FM Cares signing events and stealing of signs. Then the harassment from the town and FMPD for FM Cares. Then they find the signs in a car along with a gun and drugs and nothing happens to the person. Then the recent letter accusing parents of parading their cancer stricken children in front of the town council. Need I go on.
These people are ruthless and can't be trusted. Bring on the poll watchers.

  12. Let's go through your laundry list:

Hineygate - as I recall, this was disclosed at a Council meeting and vetted in the press, and what exactly does pinching a cop's butt have to do with gas drilling?

Sabotage - are you referring to people like myself that went to a signing event, read the copy of the proposed moratorium and changes to ordinances (unlike several lemmings who signed the petition without reading anything) and asked a few questions of the FM Cares reps, quickly revealing that they had no clue what was actually in the proposed changes? If so, I guess I am guilty of sabotage.

Harassment by FMPD - if so, were charges actually filed against FMPD? If not, why not? If there really was harassment then we should insist that the "victims" file charges.

Sign stealing - I presume you are referring to the 17-year-old with the BB gun, who did something stupid thinking he was helping his mother? Yes - he is no doubt at the center of a massive conspiracy and will surly be a prime suspect if vote fraud occurs.

Parent parading children in front of Council - I know of at least two Council meetings where a mother brought her kids up to the podium when she addressed council and attempted to link gas drilling with cancer - are you denying that this happened or just offended that someone had the temerity to mention it?

I realize that "crazy" was not a sufficiently precise term to use in my diagnosis. It's clear that what we have hear is delusional paranoia. In fact, I suspect we may have a delusional paranoia cluster.

  13. I would like to address only one of the statements you just posted. The one about the mother bringing her children to the Town council meeting. Her husband works nights so with or without cancer, her children would need to accompany her to the meetings. She never said that gas drilling caused the cancer. I could dispute just about everything else you just pointed out but frankly you are not worth the time.

  14. To April 13, 10:40 a.m.

Your comment about a family - Mother who is fighting for her childs' life is in poor taste. It is one thing to call a group crazy, paronid, etc, it is quit another to attack a family striving to save their childs life. Your behavior is unacceptable and I am certain the people supporting drilling do not want to be associated with your attacks on sick children. I have mineral rights and I am ashamed of your behavior.

  15. Reread my post - the actual words, without interpreting any malicious intent. I did not attack the mother or the child. I simply noted that she did, in fact, appear before the council with her children, in response to another blogger that seemed to be challenging this fact. It's these emotional, irrational reactions that really hurt the credibility of your cause.

  16. Me emotional? Re-Read all your posting. Your very emotional.

  17. I would like to find out if there's any signs left over from this campaign, (no drilling) and if so, I'd like to get some for myself and some Neighbors. We live in NW Denton County, and Devon Energy is planning on drilling out here and they're currently signing people up to lease.
    Thanks!
