Numbers of People Ignored

** Over 600 people at the January 21st Town Hall

** Over 6,000 petition signers

** Over 95% of households who have NOT signed a gas lease

And yet they say that they want to let the people determine the outcome? Which people? There has never been a more clear cut reason to get out and vote in this week's election.

Show them that in fact, they DO have to listen to Town residents.

Do it today before early voting ends at 7:00pm.

  1. I wish I could say I'm shocked they didn't listen. I'm not. Nobody in the pro drilling group Wallace, Dixon, Levinick or Smith gets that not one person that signed that petition was asking those four to change their mind. All they were doing is asking those four to prove that they were right by implementing the moratorium and the stakeholder group. If 15% of voters in Town say I don't trust you its amazing that they don't feel the need to listen. Putting this vote off until November is just an attempt to give Williams what they want - a CCF. Anyone who doesn't want a CCF in their less than a mile from an elementary school needs to get out and vote today.

  2. So now this cloud will hang over FM until the November election. Those who favored the outcome of the vote last night need to kindly spare the rest of us about how much they are bothered by our town being divided.

Mr. Filidoro was right. Had the council shown leadership in December or January, we'd be nearing the end of the moratorium.

I am curious about one thing though. Should we have new leadership on May 9th, can the matter be revisited at the next council meeting? I don't see why not.

  5. not all of the 95% of people that don't have leases agree with you on this. I am happy that this is going to the voter's in Nov. I will finally get a say in the matter.

  6. Uh..this did go to the voters already when over 15% of the town's registered voters signed the petition.

  7. It is interesting how people say,"No one should tell another person what they can or can not do with their own property." What do they think all the HomeOwners Associations do that Flower Mound now requires. I can not even paint my front door without color approval...and they want to put in large, ugly CCF's. Give me a break!
