ReplyDeleteIt looks like they were seismic testing on Hilliard. Those who live near Hilliard, be ready for them to get you to sign so they can seismic test.
ReplyDeleteRemember the town does not allow seismic testing on right a ways.
The money isn't worth the trouble you may have later.
Unless you signed a lease that gives them the right to test or you don't own your minerals but the mineral owner kept some rights to access the surface for exploration you do not have allow them to do seismic testing!
ReplyDeleteI've asked this question before, but no one answered it. Does anyone know if you can cancel a lease once it's been signed?
ReplyDeleteThat is a good question for a lawyer. I would have them look at your lease.
ReplyDeleteYour lease may have a termination date on it. In most leases that means that if they have not drilled the well yet, you have the option not to resign.
But as far as canceling before the termination date, I have never heard of anyone being successful in doing that.
I've never heard of anyone being able to terminate a lease either, unless provisions of the lease are clearly violated. If they "pressured" you into signing it or mislead you, you could try to get it thrown out or claim you signed under "duress".
