We are not against all gas drilling, but rather that which will adversely affect the public safety, the enjoyment of our homes, and our overall quality of life. We support the need for better regulation and accountability of the Oil & Gas Industry in rural and urban areas of Texas.
Jody Smith, Mr. Wallace, Mr Dixon and Ms. Levenick (see two posts down) are to be thanked for this lovely site. Their decisions played a big part in this well happening. Let's not forget that come May.
It is a beautiful day in Flower Mound. I see some people who had brains enough to lease their mineral rights about to start making some "MONEY". And PS, that is the "Finger" to Flower Mound and all of the anti-drilling nuts. If you had supported the land owners variances in the meeting, the wells would have been placed much farther back on the development. You nuts can think yourselves for this pretty picture. And you might want to give the CCF another thought. Unless you prefer the extra truck traffic. Have a good time with it "Suckers".

We do prefer extra truck traffic on the streets of Shiloh where the residents said "YES" to drilling. So they can say "YES" to trucks on their streets.
The poster that seems to have little regard for the safety of children is the one who seems to like the additional truck traffic on Shiloh Road. One of you anti-drillers, I presume? Your hypocrisy is showning... again.
There are no schools in the Shiloh area AND I didn't sign a lease because I was concerned about safety. You signed a lease because you care about kids, is that your argument?
My argument is that the truck traffic on and near Shiloh, which is much greater than it would be if there were a CCF, makes it more dangerous for the children in that neighborhood. And that is a real danger, unlike the fantasy danger of leaking pipelines espoused by the anti-drillers that do not even live there. Or the fantasy danger of exploding gas wells in FM or the fantasy danger of poison gases wafting across school playgrounds.
So if all of you on Shiloh were adverse to truck traffic, which is the only "real danger" according to you, why did you sign leases? A couple hundred dollars a month was worth your kids saftey?

Joe, you have it all wrong. Many of us here in Flower Mound have stood with our neighboring towns and fought for better regulation and better drilling practices. We drink the water and eat the food that comes from other areas in our State. Gas drilling does not discriminate when it comes to fracking things up.

First of all, I wanna say i got family trying to make a living on that rig.. Second, when those wells are drilled they produce the gas that heats your home... You can complain all you want but looks to me they are punching these holes anyway and your wasting your time.. In fact all your doing is slowing the process and now they will be your nieghbors longer.. They could take a week and a half to drill and get out, now you have extended the stay and made a mess.. All i got to say is f***,fight, and trip some pipe!!

They are more exposed to the crap than those of us living near them. We are asking for better drilling practices. Electric rigs and compressors, vapor recovery and emission control, chemical free fracking fluids etc. Everyone will benefit from this...even your family members who work in the industry. Don't you think they deserve to work in a safe and healthy environment? Until that can be done, gas companies should not be allowed to drill.

I am not a NIMBY, I live at least 3miles from a well. But I don't think anyone should have to live, work or go to school next to a well.
Come up with a better way to extract it and I might think about changing my mind. If my HOA allowed solar panels, I would do it in a heartbeat. We should be looking at alternative energy that does not involve fossil fuels anyway.

What is the point to drill shale gas now when the gas prices are so low? Wouldn't it be better to use foreign gas and let our gas stay down there until there really is need to use it? It would give time to develop cleaner and more efficient technology.
Due to the low market price the mineral rights owners get lower royalty, the gas is pumped into old wells and sold for higher profit once the prices get higher.
Only a few "obvious" people in Flower Mound will make alot of money from drilling here. All these little lease holders who signed a lease that have a house built on a tiny square piece of property will not. Your checks will not be enough money to cover one doctors office visit. It may cover a small office co-pay.
Only where the rig goes up is the person who makes the money.
It is so hard to think that people can be so ignorant. I was raised around oil and gas fields all of my life and have never met a soul who had ever been seen by a doctor that claimed they were sick due to a gas well. Now I wont disagree with you as far as drilling close to a school. Not because they will get sick but the danger of a rig and what could possibly happen.(Blow Out).I saw a report done by a company (cant remember the name but will find out and post) that benzine amounts were higher from big trucks and trains than the 600 wells the moniters wer put on. By the way it was done by an independent company hired by the city of Fort Worth and not an oil company.It seems that the only ones that are having a fit are the ones who dont have any mieral rights. I own mine and 200 acres and I didnt let them drill. So go buy your mineral rights and you can keep them away from you

They just did a series recently about gas couplings causing home explosions in this area.
That gas company had to start replacing all the couplings because of the investigation. People blow up and died in their homes.
That was not fantasy.
