Residents of Flower Mound....time is running out to let the Flower Mound Oil & Gas Advisory Board know how you feel and what you would like to see in the ordinance recommendations submitted to Town Council.
Saturday, February 12th, 9:00 am to Noon, you will have another opportunity to make a public comment. The Public Hearing will be held at Town Hall, 2121 Cross Timbers Road. Please show up and let your voice be heard.
The OGAB will hand their final recommendations to the Town Council. This is the most important thing to happen in this town for a long time. What ends up in the ordinance may affect your quality of life, health, wealth, and property values.
Our Mission: To work in a legal, ethical, and civil manner to stop urban gas drilling in the highly residential areas of North Texas. We are not against all gas drilling, but rather that which will adversely affect the public safety, the enjoyment of our homes, and our overall quality of life. We support the need for better regulation and accountability of the Oil & Gas Industry in rural and urban areas of Texas.
I attended both of these meeting and there was only one "pro-gas" person who attended. He stated that "there are no chemicals in the water".....and you guys say we don't get our facts straight?
ReplyDeleteI was driving by he Wilson site on Scenic. Not only is that pit there, (for what?) - but they have put up a blast wall. Like the ones they put around drill sites. What is that for? What is going behind he wall?
ReplyDeleteDo they have to obtain permits for anything? Homeowners do for fences, pools, etc. Again, industrial sites with industrial rules do not belong in neighborhoods with residential rules.
Wilson's site is changing.....
Does anyone know what's going on at the Hilliard site? Did they dismantle and remove the rig and wall because the drilling is complete? Or is it because they've given up since the leases expired?

ReplyDeleteWait, I'm confused, Cherokee Horn told us years ago that drilling would only take 30 days, we would barely notice they were there, and then they would never come back.

I posted my question in the wrong blog post, my apologies. Guess we'll have to wait and see what they do regarding the Rule 37 exceptions.
ReplyDeleteTo me it seems sill, though, that everything would be torn down if they were going to finish drilling later. Perhaps it's my hopeful thinking, but perhaps they're just pulling out of this drilling site because it won't be worthwhile to them.
Then again, who can understand these drilling companies's rationale anyway.
They're not pulling out and it will still be valuable to them, but I will be enjoying the new dog park @ Hilliard field I heard about.
