If this passes, no one can help us!

Roy Morris -- Kendra Stephenson has her campaign sign on his property in Founders Square. It's all by itself, certainly an independent voice, with no other signs anywhere near it. She said on facebook that her family has used Roy Morris's legal expertise for years, and they don't agree on everything, but apparently she has no qualms whatsoever in his demonstrating his endorsement of her with that sign on his property.

Kendra continues to have her sign there EVEN AFTER Morris testified in Austin for a law that could make Flower Mound's oil and gas ordinance useless. That just doesn't smell right. At all.

I'm voting for Jeff Whittaker. He stands by what he says, does what he says he'll do, and doesn't take endorsements from gas drilling special interests. He's no quitter, through thick and thin, like when he was the lone voice on Planning and Zoning. I'm glad we've got a truly independent candidate in Jeff Whittaker!

It seems to me this was the plan all along, Kendra was appointed by Jody Smith, she votes down a gas well site that Morris doesn't care about, Hilliard, which allows her to get the support of anti-drilling people AND pro-drilling people, then they heavily promote her by using all Morris commerical property and assume Flower Mound voters are too stupid or lazy to do their homework. FYI, at least some of us are not.

Just received Mayor Northern's facebook post. Note, that if you are a mineral owner it is important to say that when writing you opposition letter. She also said she would hand carry them to Austin. Do we drop our letters off at Town Hall? And when?

Do you really think this was the plan all along since August of 2009? Seems a bit far fetched.

I'd like to ask all of you if you take responsiblity for all of your friends actions? Do you stop being their friend if they say vote for a candidate that you don't approve of?

Go back and study the dirty politics of this Town, that theory pails in comparison to things that have gone on here in the past.

Sorry, the Kendra sign on his property is just too much of a coincidence for me to just brush off too.

@anon 12:33 am:
Kendra's position against HB 3105 is loud and clear in her website. She says (pasted below relevant content on her opinion on HB 3105 from the "Current bills in Texas Legislature" section in her site:
http://kendraforfm.com/)

"I have written Rep. Tan Parker and Senator Jane Nelson asking them to vote no on the following bills.

HB 3105 - this bill would eliminate a municipality's ability to use it's authority to protect its residents health, safety and welfare.  The Texas Municipal League estimates that any municipality attempting to regulate the recovery of natural gas would be subject to lawsuits from drillers and mineral owners at an average cost of $8.3 million per lawsuit.
This bill is unacceptable and would eliminate a municipality's ability to implement reasonable restrictions on drilling to protect its residents.

HB 875 ..."

She also says she disagrees with Roy Morris on many drilling related issues in her "Fact or Fiction" section:
"While I respect Roy, we disagree on many issues related to urban drilling."

Do you have friend you disagree with? Are you still their friend or do you cut all ties with them? Read the above statement and reflect deeply.

I don't question why Kendra wants her signs on Roy's property, it's to try to get votes, I don't understand what sense it makes for Roy. Thing that make you go "Hmmmmmm". If I was running for office and my friend disagreed with me, I would not have sign on their property.

@anon 10:19am: Any questions to Roy should ideally be directed at him. But that might not be relevant as he is not the one running.
Kendra's points are clearly communicated on this and several other questions posed in this blog.

HB 3105 would not only be bad for the municipality to lose governance over any and all oil and gas activities, but would set a precedent for any other activity that a city can regulate today. More bills such as HB 3105 would be allowed to pass under the guise of parity. Please take advantage of Mayor Northern's offer to take your written letter stating your opposition to Austin or make a public appearance if this bill progresses to the Floor.

@ Anon April 30, 2011 11:59 AM - Tit for tat, I guess this is how it will be with Kendra on Council. The fact remains, her sign is on Roy's property. You guys are more about being anti-NFL+H than anything else, as are most of your followers.

@anon Apr 30, 11:59 am: Out of the NFLH, in this election only H (Tom Hayden) is running and we know he is running unopposed.  And it is my belief that the folks who support Kendra for Place 1 generally support Tom for Place 5.

Rather than branding people as anti-anything you need to realize that, Kendra supporters agree that some good things have been done last year, believe a few things could have been done differently and more can be done. These points were brought up by Kendra in the spirit of discussing her reason for running (www.kendraforfm.com). NFLH still has the majority and an independent voice will only help the people by working along with other council members on points of common agreement and in other cases, asking questions where some angles need to be visited/ revisited (E.g. Why do not we mandate Vapor Recovery Systems, why not much focus on CCF ordinance considerations in OGAB recommendations).

Most replies to you and others are made here only because you are posting comments about Kendra that we believe are either incorrect or misunderstood.

Vote for Jeff Whittaker because he an experienced, independent thinker. He will continue to work hard for our
Community. http://electjeffw.com/biography.html

Statements about Kendra are "either incorrect or misunderstood". That is funny. I know for a fact they are not incorrect. And since I know the truth. I completely understand why Jeff Whittaker will be the best choice for Place 1. http://electjeffw.com

>>(E.g. Why do not we mandate >>Vapor Recovery Systems

....every well does not need vapor recovery and if you overstep your legal bounds, you nullify everything you have put in. There is vapor recovery, if testing of the air warrants it. That's what you guys fail to see is if you overstep you can actually do more harm than good, but it's never enough for you guys.

Not only has Kendra been working hard with Tan, she was working closely with President Obama to bring Osama bin Laden to Justice. We are happy to report that work has produced tangible results tonight.

@Anony May 1 9:12am, I'm getting dizzy trying to understand your points. Kendra alternates between attacking NFL+H and pretending she wants to play nice and just be another voice in the process that suggests alternatives. Problem with that is your campaign has a lot of defectors and we KNOW what she is really doing and saying behind the scenes. Anyone who appreciates the work of Mayor Northern and Council Members Filidoro, Lyda and Hayden would do well to take their advice and vote for Jeff Whittaker.

Please vote for Jeff Whittaker. Just reading these comments you can see that no one has anything bad to say about him. Which means everyone likes him and will be willing to work with him. That is what we need.
A red flag went up when his opponent said she is for Hayden and Wise but bashes the currently council. Isn't Hayden part of the current council?
It is apparent to me that Ms. Stephenson will say or do anything to get elected, even throw those that she claims she supports, under the bus.
Not anyone I want on the council!!!!

Once again, our Mayor is in Austin working hard for Kendra and community for issues related to gas drilling, while Kendra is working hard and spending a lot of money bashing her Mayor back home.
