Austin....We have a problem

Yes we have a big problem. The agency that is trusted with the job of protecting all Texans from breathing toxic air isn't doing their job. This letter from Melanie Sattler, Ph.D., P.E. and Associate Professor at the University of Arlington tells it like it is.

She conducted air quality studies of 3 large compressor sites in Tarrant and Denton County and found that all of them had esl's that exceeded the TCEQ standards for a number of chemicals and toxins .

Sunset Committee members please take note. You must do something to change this. We can't let these problems go another 10 to 12 years until the next Sunset Review!!

Click....start the stop-watch for how long it takes the BSEEC to personally attack this highly qualified expert. I can't wait for Ed, non-scientist, to dispute the information.

They will try to discredit her somehow. Similar to how the Global Warming scientists were discredited. For Texas especially, money is more important than good health for growing kids.

I am recalling a statement made by Council Member Wallace....stating all he needed was "a shread of evidence". Well, here is 2 pages from someone with I'm guessing more education than he has, a lot more. Scratch that, mass quantities more.

This is wonderful. I think we should go a step further and lobby every level of government -- municipalities, Railroad Commission, President Obama -- to 1) ban hydraulic fracturing until the results of the EPA study are released (supposed to be released in 2012) and 2) not to consider allowing fracking to resume unless the EPA study shows fracking to cause no harm to health or the environment.

Send a letter to President Obama at catskillcitizens.org (thanks for heads up from TX Sharon).

Health and property values know no political boundaries.

This is not your land from the beginning to have a say in. The good people of Flowermound have been waiting on this for years. They deserve this. Do you even live near it? When did you move into the community? YOU FAIL TO UNDERSTAND THIS.

Your right, it was Native American land first, maybe they should get the royalty money since it was stolen from them first. After all, for you it's all about being patriotic and NOT about the money, right?

Well the Hilliards are descendants of Native Americans so I suppose the money is doing where it should in at least that instance!

What percentage? 5?
