Blog Is Up

Hi Friends and Neighbors. I am creating this website as a place to organize and gather important information regarding the proposed natural gas drilling site at the Northshore Club in Flower Mound, Texas. I will be adding information as I get it. If you have something you want to share, please email me here. or feel free to leave a comment. The most important thing that we can do as citizens is to become educated on what the proposed drilling will do to our neighborhood. Do not believe everything (or anything) that you hear from the drilling companies. It is our responsibility to become educated BEFORE SIGNING ANYTHING!!!!!

WHO are you?

WE are just your average homeowners living in a neighborhood adjacent to the proposed drilling site. We are concerned that something like this can happen so close to our homes. We aren't getting a lot of straight answers from the developers so we are doing our own research and hoping that other people do the same.

It would be great if you substantiated your facts on the same page. Some of them just don't sound plausible. Were you the one who sent out the flyers? There was nothing on there saying who it was from, and nothing substantiating the facts listed.

If there is a particular fact that doesn't seem plausible, then do some research of your own. Send me what you find. If we were wrong here, I am happy to correct it. Questioning the information that you are being told is great - I respect that - just make sure you also question what the oil and gas developers tell you. Also, talk to someone that has lived through this.

Oh, and no I did not personally hand out any flyers although I am not sure of the relevance.

2/22 As we were driving to dinner through Double Oak, we noticed a sign for a committee meeting on Gas Leases. The sign had a website : www.doubleoakgas.com. - So I decided to check it out as it's another source of information of residents going through this.
The site has a few links which you may find interesting. Please take a look!
Also, did anyone see the Front page Artile in the Flower Mound Messenger on Cherekee Horn? From what I understand, they haven't even applied for a permit from the Texas Railroad Commission! Maybe a very important question we should ask, especially because we have every right to believe they are going to "flip" our rights.

"We are not experts" is the only thing you're right about so far. My guess is you know nothing about gas drilling. The fact that you put up an "actual picture from Parker county" showing a working drilling rig in front of a house is pretty disingenuous. Those rigs stay up for several weeks or months until the hole is completed. Then they are removed and you have maybe a one acre pad, a pretty darn small wellhead and a few pipes left. There's no rig left to spoil your precious view of... suburban sprawl. Truth be told, I'd rather look out at a rig than another boring red brick house with a Camry out front.

I don't work for a gas driller and I don't have a stake in the wells in any way. What I do know is the people who own the land can do with it as they please. If you don't like it, then you come up with the money to buy the land and the mineral rights and you can choose not to drill at that point. Until then, quit complaining. I find that most of the complainers like you do very little, if any, work during the week and have no idea what it takes to keep the U.S. economy moving. It certainly isn't uninformed bloggers that make it run.

Pity really, that someone would have nothing better to do then stop people that may have had land in this area for so many years from benefiting from it. These things happen all of the time, all over the world, and even right down your street. Did you cry, when 2499 was put in or the mega Wal-Mart was built? I highly doubt it, although these projects affected the lives of land owners greatly. I'm sure you drive the road and shop those stores on occasion. Why would you even dare to hamper generations of land rights in this area? Just because you immigrated here and do not like it? Most of your comments are so far off track, (you probably keep you oil and gas book right next to Bambi) that someone needs to be policing you. I am related to a land owner that stands to gain so much from the land that has been in our family for so long. And by the way, more power to us. It is a sad thing that Americans have not changed that much over time. Some always feel the need to take over territory and make it how they want it. Ironice is it not, that "groups" like yours, and I use that term lightly, would distribute thousands of RED flyers on everyone's door in Flower Mound so they could blow around and trash up the town? I'm sorry, but I really do not get it.

I truly hope that you post that last comment, and do not hide from the truths.

My family had an gas rig 500 feet from their house. Nothing of what you proclaim happened. I guess that just goes to show that the world will not end if they drill and two years from now the wells will be drilled and everything normal.

Just wanted to deliver some facts
