UPDATE: 60 Minutes will air the story of Tim and Christine Ruggiero

On Sunday, November 14th, Tim and Christine Ruggiero's story will air on 60 minutes with Lesley Stahl. They will also air the story of "Shaleionaires" in the Haynesville Shale. Louisiana residents who have made money on leasing their minerals.

From the 60 Minutes website:

SHALEIONAIRES - While some complain that extracting natural gas from shale rock formations is tainting their water supply, others who have allowed drilling on their property are getting wealthy and becoming "shaleionaires." Lesley Stahl reports. Shachar Bar-On and Meghan Frank are the producers

I can't wait to see how they will tell both stories since Tim and Christine suffered at the hands of a mineral owner and a gas company.

If you don't know about their plight, click here.

catoThe story of Tim and Christine Ruggiero is a sad one. A lot of families have allowed gas drilling on their land only to find out it is poisoning their families. They are moving from their homes, property values have gone down and their lives will never be the same again.
We fought the fight to keep gas drilling out of our community because we now realize from people like the Ruggiero's that it is not safe and we don't want any more drillings around us polluting the air we breathe. There are hundreds and hundreds of gas drillings around us here in North Texas and we need to stop any further drillings until we can make the gas industry come forth with the truth about the chemicals they are using for drilling.
Until Gov. Perry changes his attitude about Gas Companies and their accountability and make it mandatory to list the chemicals they use to 'frack' and extract gas we will continue to have people getting sick.
I look forward to seeing the 60 minute report and hope that we see more investigative reporting about the Gas Drilling in the Barnett Shale.

Aruba Petrolum meet national press titan (sorry for the pun).

Just to be clear-We did not 'let' Aruba Petroleum do anything. We signed no lease, no negotiation, or even so much as a discussion. They WAITED for us to leave for work before cutting themsleves a hole through our fence to start bulldozing the proeprty. This was a violation of state law-law requires 14 days written notice, and this never happened. Aruba admits violating the law, stating they notified us 'verbally'.
