Flower Mound Town Council to Discuss Oil & Gas and Pipeline Ordinances

Monday, June 20th, the Town Council will review and discuss the draft Oil and Gas and Pipeline Ordinances/related Comparison Charts at their meeting. No items will be considered for adoption at this meeting. For more info the pipeline ordinance and the oil and gas ordinance, click here.

The Oil and Gas Advisory Board met for 6 months. In the beginning the meetings were twice a month and then moved to weekly meetings. A lot of great recommendations were submitted. The town recognizes that there is still some work to do. It is important the the residents continue to submit comments and ideas.

I can't wait to hear what the new council member and her cohorts have to say. If they have all of this "great legal advice" that should be implemented to make the Town impervious to gas interests, please share so all can benefit. If you don't share, then you obviously are just using it to smear the current council. Which is it?

Good point Anon 9:36 a.m. Our new Councilwoman should be able to help the out tremendously, since she had pursued legal counsel of her own while she sat on the Oil and Gas Board of Appeals. Remember how she quit the board in protest, because the Town was legally wrong in their administrative approval of Hilliard? Well, now she gets to put her "legal knowledge" into action and save the residents of Flower Mound from having to ever go through another administrative approval by Town staff. We shall see indeed what this suit is made of.

What confused me the most was she said "gas drilling cannot be stopped" but then resigned because gas drilling was not stopped at Hilliard when it could have been according to her expert legal advise. You can't have it both ways.

...or how about the group of people who first wanted to throw out the council because they wanted an SUP process, and now they want to throw out the replacement council because they WON'T add the SUP process. No wonder the FM voter is confused.

or better yet. This new councilwoman and some of her close cohorts selling their houses and leaving town. Why don't they figure out what they want and leave the rest of us alone that aren't flaky, like they are. At least the people who want drilling are genuine, unlike Stephenson and her yahoo friends.

The enemy to your face is more respected than the traitor who stabs you in the back.

Traitors and backstabbers they are. Wish they would all pack up and leave. Our mayor and four councilmen would have much better success without their incessant whining and complaining. The Shiloh folks are a much more reasonable group to work with.

Hmmmm, haven't seen any sharing of this great legal advice yet, maybe tonight during the public hearing?

Election's over. Give it a rest. Just swallow the sour grapes and move on.

Are you people not happy if you don't have something to complain about?

Ahem. We weren't the ones complaining about our current local government at the time. We were happy. The complaining was monopolized by you folks.
