Congratulations to Kendra, Mark and Tom. I am so happy Kendra won. Thank you FMCAUD for posting all comments whether they were for your candidate or not.
The best part of the election was watching both anti drilling campaigns go after each others throats! Can't wait till next year after the people of Flower Mound see how crazy you all are.
Everyone, some of the comments are disappearing and I will try to repost them. Sorry
This was posted by Mellany Lamb. I am trying to get most of the comments back up
Another interesting race in Flower Mound. Congratulations to the incumbent Tom Hayden and new Councilmembers Kendra Stephenson and Mark Wise. Mostly, thank you Jeff Whittaker for your class. You will always be a winner!
Anon 12:17. You must be a miserable person. Although each campaign did not agree on some things, I am sure we agree that gas drilling needs to be regulated better in Flower Mound.

--you mean all of the ones that didn't care enough to vote. Yeah, can't wait.
Anon 12:17PM, I also can't wait till next year. Just imagine after Spilliams has a few more spills and the asthma rates are even higher... Flower Mound might even elect Al Gore. haha!
Kendra won inspite of the unfair twisting by NFL supporters on her long distance drilling comments. I'll prefer to keep Hilliard site 2 miles away from our schools if we legally cannot stop them. NFL lacked the spine to question Terry Welch who is a sissy and also billing his law firm at the same time. Call it lack of courage or conspiracy on Hilliard or the new O & G ordinances - a lot of NFL supporters are supporting them for their inaction ? Not for long unless NFL comes back and really does something instead of passing resolutions/making press statements. At least someone is trying to explore solutions to our problems so stop complaining! A "Drill right" best practices document on this website is a proof that you cannot stop drilling. The NFL supporters should go after NFL to implement these standards in the new O & G ordinances? I know for sure Kendra will support these best practices.
Anon 5:09 I can see you have no idea what is happening at Hilliard. First of all. Hilliard is a done deal!!! End of story. It was permitted by the Texas Railroad Commission before NFL was in office. When they moved the site to be in compliance, the Texas RRC still considered it an amended permit. Even if the town required a new application. Second, Titan will never move the pad site on Hilliard to drill 2 miles away. They have invested too much and Mr. Hilliard wants his money for the SURFACE RIGHTS and the minerals. Kendra did not run agains NFL. She ran agains Jeff Whittaker. Since he is such an upstanding citizen and community volunteer, her camapaign went after NFL. They did just as much negative campaigning against NFL and those supporting Jeff. So it works both ways. Welcome to politics. Twist it anyway YOU want. But the whole "independent" and "long distance drilling" BS worked because most of her votes came from the pro drilling conservatives. Who by the way, will run their own candidates next year against anyone that Kendra supports. That is unless she becomes a Steve Dixon or Mike Wallace. Remember when they said they were for protecting our families but dismissed residents concern about leukemia, the air quality problem by the Scenic site and rejected a moratorium, along with Jean Levenick, back in 2009?
Anon 5:09, how do you know what went on in private sessions with the town attorney? That is only for Town Council members. I am sure you did not hear that from Northern, Filidoro, Lyda, or Hayden. Hmmm who else could be feeding you that false info?
It is evident that the very same people who were driven to get Jody Smith removed from office have the same ill-passion to drive Northern, Filidoro, Lyda and Hayden out of office. This became apparent within two short months of the election last year, when on this very blog site, anonymous commenters were throwing NFL&H under the bus for actions that the wheels started turning in October of 2009 regarding Titan's application to drill on Hilliard that occurred when Jody Smith, Jean Levenick, Steve Dixon, and Mike Wallace were in power. People have short memories, but I hope that this angry group of Stephenson supporters will remember that when the petition came up for a vote in April 2010, Smith's majority Council voted no. It was not until NFL&H had the majority in May 2010 that the Smith Council vote against the proposed moratorium and the formation of the O&G Advisory Board did they repeal the no vote and pass the moratorium and approve the Advisory Board. What has postponed drilling at Hilliard is a Rule 37 protest. This may allow current leases to expire and not be renewed by newly educated residents of the dangers of fracking. If Virginia Simonson and Prakash Paramesweran had filed a temporary injunction, instead of full-blown lawsuit, maybe it could have stopped the Titan application or maybe not. But to continually bash NFL&H is ungrateful and shameful, as these are the very same people that believed the movement that you angry people brought forth from January 21, 2010. Somehow your group has found power in being complainers and turncoats. Sadly, you all will never be happy.
50.82% - hardly a mandate to do a damned thing. Half of her voters were from Al haters. They don't support her, they just hate Al. Once Al is gone, she will have nobody to support her, but nice job burning bridges before you even take office. You'll never have more supporters than you have now, that's not how politics works.
Not even addressing the issue of how they'll get Titan and Mr. Hilliard to agree to the idea of re-drilling the Hilliard well, I still haven't seen Kendra or any of her supporters say just where they think they can drill in Flower Mound that's 2 miles from Hilliard and away from schools, homes, and the lake. I can't find such a place and they haven't said where it is or how they'll get industry approval. Talk about HMMMM.
But even asking these questions makes me a word twister, according to the Kendra crowd.

"But even asking these questions makes me a word twister, according to the Kendra crowd."
Good point, but I don't even care about that much. I just want to see that group of people come up with an original idea that would work. All I have seen so far is failed lawsuits and ideas that don't make sense, ala your example.
We would like to just move on and go forward now. There is a lot of work to be done. Let's not waste any more energy on the election. The election is over.
